Is snacking important? 

Snacking between meals is essential to avoid heavy portion sizes during meal consumptions. Healthy eating is not a choice anymore. Migrating from oily and fried snacks to healthy snacks can be a challenge for many of us. For some of us, healthy eating seems to be a tasteless and costly choice. Brown bread sandwiches – 

Shift from unhealthy maida or refined flour-based bread to multigrain wheat flour bread. You can use boiled eggs, veggies, homemade mint chutneys to make your sandwich. Make sure you do not exceed a bread slice for your snacks. 

Peanuts – 

Peanuts are high in nutritional value. They have high proteins and fibers. You can easily buy peanuts online and roast, boil and season them for your snacks. Do not have more than the required quantity to avoid excess peanut fat consumption. You can also buy peanuts online packets that are roasted, salted, or chatpata for a variety in taste. 

Fresh fruit juice – 

A glass of your favorite fruit juice can also be consumed for snacks. Make sure the juice does not have added refined sugar and is not store purchased. If you have to purchases juice from the store, pay attention to its nutritional contents. 

Fresh fruit – This is the most affordable and easy healthy eating option. You can purchase fruits according to your budget, wash them, and consume them. 

Baked food – If you need to purchase chips or other food packets, make sure you choose the baked alternative. These might be slightly more expensive than the fried chips but will ensure healthy eating. Even while cooking at home, start baking savories instead of deep-frying them. 

Boiled egg – The egg whites of 1-3 boiled eggs depending on your workout pattern is another healthy snack. You can garnish the egg whites with pepper and salt. Do not consume eggs more than what your body needs to avoid indigestion and excess nutrition concentration. 

Dry fruits – A handful of mixed dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, raisins, dried blueberries, cashews, peanuts, chana is a healthy and affordable snacking option. Raw vegetables- You can cut some cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, and other green vegetables for your snacking. You can top these vegetables with a homemade sauce or basic salt pepper for enhancing the taste.
